M. Night Shyamalan's GLASS

M. Night Shyamalan's GLASS

A movie review by Dennis D. McDonald

I usually don’t like to write negative reviews but in the case of GLASS I’ll make an exception.

I usually enjoy the actors playing the main characters but the movie overall suffers from a plodding story, poor dialog, flaccid direction, and a milquetoast “twist” ending. Sequences of the movie are just plain dumb, especially the “climactic” battle.

James McAvoy wears after a while due to his multiple-personality histrionics. The whole thing has the feel of something the director made up as he went along while giving little or no direction to his actors. Skip this one.

For a much better and grittier drama that is much more original check out Paul Solet’s BULLET HEAD.
