DDMcD's "Science Fiction" Book Reviews

DDMcD's "Science Fiction" Book Reviews

By Dennis D. McDonald

I’ve loved science fiction books since I was a kid, starting with the Winston Science Fiction series of juvenile books I borrowed from the Bexley Public Library (where I eventually worked for 6 years during high school and college). The illustration above is by Alex Schomburg and used as the endpapers on the Winston series books. It perfectly encapsulates how I perceived science fiction as a kid. Nowadays, of course, science fiction novels deal with a range of themes wider than the space travel stories that fascinated me back then, but I still enjoy re-reading or even discovering the classics of the past.
